Amrax has announced a strategic partnership with Relux Informatik AG, a lighting design software provider.

The partnership will enable users to send 3D scan data from Amrax’s Metaroom app directly to Relux’s light planning software. This enables the creation of precise and detailed light and sensor plans for each room. Users can seamlessly integrate true-to-scale 3D models of rooms, including detailed information on colours and textures into the Relux light planning software.

By creating more accurate and complex lighting plans almost instantly, designers can easily experiment with scores of variables to produce the most efficient, comfortable and functional lighting for their buildings.

The digital twin is created with the Metaroom app within minutes by using RGB and depth sensors from an iPhone or iPad Pro together with deep-learning neural networks. The accuracy of LiDAR sensors of the iPhone 14 Pro model is at 0.5-1%. The recognition range is approximately 5 metres.

Martin Huber, CEO of Amrax, said: “Advances in areas such as 3D modelling, AI and sensors have changed the game for the design and construction industries. Nearly every aspect of our built environment can become more dynamic, intelligent and sustainable.

“By integrating Relux’s platform, Metaroom gives users a comprehensive solution with an integrated workflow that combines the power of our 3D scanning technology with advanced lighting design capabilities."

Markus Hegi, CEO of Relux, said: "This partnership has the potential to transform the way external field staff interact with its customers. By combining our expertise, we can already offer a considerable added-value profit to our users with this first version, and this is just the starting point of all possibilities. The partnership between Amrax and Relux is an important step in the development of design and construction technologies and both companies are looking towards the future with excitement.”
