Carlo Gavazzi has extended its product offering by launching the EM530 and EM540 energy analyser, helping to manage and reduce energy usage with easy to install and accurate metering.

The EM540 can be installed in low-voltage switchboards with a rated current up to 65 A (direct connection) whilst the EM530 can be installed in systems with a rated current up to 10 kA (via 5A current transformer) to monitor the energy consumption, main electrical variables and harmonic distortion.

Both energy analyser’s are housed in a 3-DIN module and offer outstanding ease of use, performance and precision measuring of imported and exported energy class 0.5S for EM530 and class 1 for the EM540. Up to 3 energy meters can be displayed on a single page with 1 kWh resolution, 3x8 digit backlit LCD data display and integrated touch keypad. The meter is provided with pulse or alarm output Modbus RTU communication port or M-bus output and is suited to active energy metering, cost allocation and dual tariff management.

A selection of variables can be programmed to display providing for active and reactive energy measurement, options include: system and phase variables such as kW, kvar, kVA, VLL, VLN, PF, Hz, kWdmd, kWdmd peak; phase variables including kW, kvar, kVA, VLN, A, PF. Energy measurement: kWh and kvarh (imported/ exported); kWh+ by 2 tariffs; kWh per phase.

The EM500 series of meters are also available as MID certified. The European Union’s Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) is designed to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of meters.

This is particularly significant for building owners with multi-occupancy models where individual tenants are billed via sub-metering. Meters are designed to be fully tamper-proof when correctly fitted with password protection and sealable or lockable.
