Distech Controls is expanding its European head office in Brignais, near Lyon. The works began in January 2023 and construction is expected to come to a close at the end of the year.

“This investment strengthens Distech Controls’ European presence and supports our continued growth by increasing manufacturing and logistics capabilities,” stated Hubert Fritsch, deputy managing director at Distech Controls. “This is more than a building extension, it represents a real achievement for Distech Controls in Europe, reinforcing our position as a leading provider of solutions for smart connected buildings in this market.”

The Distech Controls European head office will increase its surface area by 25%. This expansion will be an opportunity to reorganise production and storage to better meet the needs and expectations of customers.

With the rise of hybrid working, Distech Controls has taken this opportunity to redesign the building’s use of space. More specifically, the company recognised that the office could no longer be uniform and must offer a range of possibilities for working.

The building extension has been designed to offer Distech Controls employees a variety of spaces, organised according to the tasks they wish to complete. There will be enclosed areas for concentration and individual work, spaces for creativity, offices for working in pairs or in groups of ten, all with hybrid collaboration in mind.

Distech Controls has designed a connected smart building synonymous with what the brand has come to be known for in the industry: a space that promotes the well-being of employees while ensuring optimised space management and energy efficiency.

During this building expansion project, the latest generation of Distech Controls controllers will be installed, the ECLYPSE APEX.I Incorporating the recently released ECLYPSE Building Intelligence technology, the installed products will allow for a true technological showcase for Distech Controls. ECLYPSE APEX is a powerful Edge HVAC/IoT controller that offers advanced performance for BMS applications, and a dedicated space for IoT developers to create advanced on-site services.

This extension is also an opportunity to put one of the benefits of our solutions into practice: to significantly reduce the energy consumption of office buildings.
