BSRIA has announced that the guest speaker at its flagship event – the annual Briefing and lunch – will be Andrew Strauss OBE and will be held at the Brewery, in London, on Friday 16th November 2018.

The theme of the event is the issue of Disruption in Construction – driving technologies and processes for the future.
Andrew Strauss OBE is director of cricket for the England national team. Among the world’s most respected players, he is one of only three England captains in history to secure Ashes victories both home and away. Under his stewardship, the national side achieved No.1 Test ranking. His understated authority included a 4-0 whitewash to beat and usurp No. 1-ranked India in 2011.
Julia Evans, chief executive, BSRIA said: “We are delighted that Andrew Strauss OBE has agreed to be BSRIA’s guest speaker at this prestigious event. We know that he is a first-rate speaker – with lots to say and a gamut of both professional and personal skillful experience – so our members and audience will be able to listen to a stimulating speech. Being able to draw down on his tenacity and perseverance – both on and off the crease – will hit a chord with BSRIA members so we expect a lively ‘q&a’ session too!”
This year’s Briefing looks at the technologies and processes we might expect to see in the future and the implications that these innovations may have for building services both in the commercial and residential sector.
The chair will be Oliver Zimmermann, CEO, Condair. Based in Switzerland, Oliver has been in post since 2012.
