As someone who has devoted nearly 40 years of his life to the built environment and utilities and has a real passion for improving buildability and connectivity, Whitecode Consulting’s head of utilities, Gary Akers, will be shining a spotlight on the importance of WiredScore and SmartScore certification at the upcoming Smart Buildings Show.
Taking place on 15th - 16th October, Smart Buildings Show will be held at ExCeL London. Featuring a multitude of speakers, including Gary, the event will focus on the growing importance of smart buildings and the need for the built environment to utilise and implement smart technology, such as building controls and automation, digital infrastructure and energy management systems.
Speaking at 2.45pm on the first day, Gary will be revealing what WiredScore and SmartScore certifications are, how to achieve the highest possible ratings, and explaining how achieving these certifications can set buildings apart from the rest while maximising value, reducing costs and enabling a sharper focus on sustainability and futureproofing.
A key theme of the presentation will be how, as a global standard for smart buildings, WiredScore and SmartScore certifications can help property developers and building owners design and built smart, cutting-edge buildings that drive cost efficiency, deliver exceptional user experiences, meet high standards of sustainability and are fully future-ready. Additionally, Gary will emphasise the crucial aspect of regular communication and collaboration between building owners and occupants to ensure the most optimal energy consumption.
Excited for the event, Gary was keen to stress the need for the built environment to embrace technology and improve building quality and connectivity through the attainment of certifications. He said: “It’s a distinct honour to have the opportunity to speak at the upcoming Smart Buildings Show in October. Building quality has, quite rightly, gained huge significance in recent years, but there is still much more the industry can do to drive cost efficiency while improving user experiences and wellbeing.”
