Johnson Controls Building Efficiency UK&I says that its online internal communications and talent development platform ’JC-iconnect‘ was selected winner of the “Best New Implementation“ category in the Skillsoft Inspire Awards 2015, at the Skillsoft Perspectives Conference in London.

This award category is for organisations that have achieved considerable success within the first year of utilising e-learning via Skillsoft or SumTotal, and must show evidence of continuous high level results over a sustained period.
Johnson Controls‘ Building Efficiency business in the UK&I developed a long term People Strategy in 2011 that focused on improved business growth and future performance through its people.
Kirsty Brooks, head of talent for Johnson Controls Building Efficiency UK&I, said: “Fundamentally the use of project teams, engaging employees to support the development and content of the learning platform at every stage has contributed to the platform being relevant to the employees within the business. This was with the aim that the content would meet the expectations of both the employee and the business. We started this journey during the economic downturn where all companies faced tough decisions to ensure business stability and sustainability. However, we used this as an opportunity to not only focus on business efficiencies but to demonstrate our commitment to our people through investing in their future too.“
Due to the success of this platform and year-on-year business growth, Johnson Controls will maintain the focus and investment in people and in continually developing the JC-iconnect platform, with new developments such as a technical forum and completing the online self-assessment of skills and competency against current and aspirational roles.
