To meet the high-power demands of commercial and industrial sites across the country, Legrand has unveiled a new range of cast resin busbar trunking, guaranteeing high levels of electrical and mechanical robustness in challenging operating conditions.
The RCP IP68 range can be used as part of a power distribution system for industrial premises that occupy multiple connected buildings, or sites with more extreme environments such as chemical and petrochemical plants, as well as in locations where there is risk of flooding. The product, which can be sited internally and externally, is IP68-rated against the ingress of solids and liquids, guaranteeing continuous performance regardless of weather and other external conditions.
The new busbar range also offers extremely high levels of fire resistance exceeding the 120 minute/830˚C requirement of IEC 60331-1:2009 by as much as half an hour for the aluminium system, and two hours for the copper system. This can be an essential requirement for applications such as data centres and military sites where continuity of supply is critical, however the high level of fire resistance can also benefit installations in offices, residential, educational and healthcare environments.
The busbar is also IK10-rated, offering the highest level of impact resistance to protect against accidental knocks or damage.
RCP IP68 completes the high-power Zucchini busbar solution, and further cements Legrand’s position as a market leader in busbar systems. The Zucchini range is one of the most comprehensive on the market, with systems ranging from 25A lighting busbar to 6300A solutions for harsh environments.
