London Land Group and ABB Electrification’s Smart Buildings Division have signed a key supplier agreement that lays the foundation for cutting-edge home automation. The collaboration underscores London Land Group's commitment to delivering unparalleled living experiences through the seamless integration of innovative and connected systems that will be implemented across their forthcoming developments in the UK.

Under the partnership, residents will benefit from energy savings and next-generation home automation. With energy management tools at their fingertips, residents will experience the full comfort and convenience of being able to access and control a full range of smart appliances, devices, and systems, from a single app.

The first development is expected to be One Westmoreland in Bromley, where deployment of smart technology using ABB's cutting-edge home systems, such as ABB-free@home®, with Samsung SmartThings is intended to extend across all 122 apartments. Residents will enjoy a heightened living experience via features such as geofencing, allowing lights, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to adjust automatically based on their proximity.

Mario Luca Balducci, chief executive of London Land Group, said, “Our goal is to make One Westmoreland a benchmark for sustainable, comfortable and convenient homes. Leveraging the integrated ABB-Samsung solution in this development, our residents will experience the benefits of modern living, controlling everything from door entry, to heating and cooling, to smart appliances, through a single app or touch panels.”

On signing the new agreement in the UK, Mike Mustapha, president, ABB Smart Buildings, said, “Energy efficiency is a top priority and by partnering with us, and benefiting from the interoperability of our systems, London Land Group can achieve this along with exceptional user experience and comfort. This collaboration enables us to further realize our shared mission to improve the well-being of both residents and entire communities.”

Once consented for development, One Westmoreland will consist of 122 new residential apartments, comprising a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, and over 1,500 sqm of high-quality office and retail floorspace. It will feature on-site renewable energy sources including solar panels and air-source heat pumps to further boost energy efficiency.
