Hyundai Engineering and Construction has completed building a Green Smart Innovation Center, an eco-friendly research facility, in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

Hyundai E&C said the company built the center in an effort to lead in the global eco-friendly construction market. Researchers there will develop green smart technology to save energy and provide healthy environments. In the center, three departments are set up to conduct architecture related experiments on housing, offices and multipurpose buildings.
In the housing experimental section, researchers study the links between a healthy environment and energy saving, considering residents' lifestyle.

For offices, researchers will study smart working environments. The company said the center will be used to develop new technology through collaboration with other group affiliates and global research centers. It will also help to maximize synergy with Hyundai Motor Group.
