BG Energy Solutions has appointed Gareth Barber as its new managing director.
With a distinguished track record in the operations and delivery side of complex, multi-site energy efficiency projects, Gareth comes to his new role with a more-than-impressive portfolio of successful projects on his resume.
Career highlights to date include his role as operations director at WEMS, where he led a full turnkey project delivery of over 5500 building energy management system (BEMS/BMS) installations throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He played a key role in the company’s growth from a £1M to £14.5M business.
During his time at WEMS, Gareth led the operation team’s largest client project to date: the delivery over £50M of energy savings to BT and the telecommunications sector in just 5 years.
Gareth has also held senior engineering roles at Interserve and Space Engineering Services, and served in the British Army’s Core of Royal Engineers.
Following Gareth’s appointment, Duncan Biggins, founding director of BG Energy Solutions has moved away from day to day operations and will take the role of company chairman. Commenting on the appointment, Duncan said:
“Gareth is an industry leader, well-respected by his peers, and comes to us with a phenomenal track record in the successful delivery of complex projects. Few people have his skills, energy or commitment. We are delighted to have him on board. We look forward to him taking the company to its next stage of growth.”
