Redstone has acquired smart building software applications provider, Connect IB, in a £1.32 million deal, which will see it integrate its smart building technology with Connect IB’s leading edge application development into a single framework.

Connect IB’s ‘wayfinding’ solution and its frictionless car parking system complements and extends Redstone’s OneSpace capabilities that help organisations manage the occupancy and use of their buildings and beyond into the car park.

Connect IB brings with it a number of long-term blue chip customers including GlaxoSmithKline plc, Meyer Bergman Limited and Westfield Corporation. Connect IB’s managing director, Keith Jump, will join Coms plc (Redstone’s core operating division) as chief technology officer.

Mark Braund, CEO of Redstone, commented: "I am delighted to be announcing the acquisition of Connect IB today. This represents a significant strategic step and one that is highly complementary to our existing business. Connect IB is the first acquisition to be made by our new management team at Coms and one which has enabled us to enhance our core offering.

"We are also pleased to be welcoming Keith and his team to Coms. Through the quality of our brands and our people, Coms is putting in place the foundations for a very exciting strategy of organic growth, complemented by targeted acquisitions, with a view to becoming a market leader in the hugely exciting Smart Building sector."
