Exertis has announced an agreement to distribute the Warmup range of Smart thermostats. These can be placed anywhere in the home, communicating wirelessly with a receiver unit which is connected to the central heating system’s boiler, working remotely with a smartphone to provide consumers with the optimum heating solution.
Both the 4iE and 5iE thermostats feature SmartGeo which in addition to learning and adapting to a user’s routine, it utilises the location services built into a smartphone to calculate how long it will take the person to get home, thereby heating the house only when necessary, reducing bills by up to 25%. The system doesn’t know a user’s exact location, just the distance from their home and all data is kept secured and encrypted.
In addition, Warmup AutoSwitch works in the background to find the best energy deals available and can be even set to automatically switch the user to the best energy tariff every year. With almost 50 energy suppliers in the UK, a typical home in the UK can save on average £210* by switching, according to government figures. Just 5 million out of 13.5 million households switched suppliers in 2016 according to Energy UK. Warmup provides the opportunity to enable consumers to save up to £2.7bn on energy costs.
Rod Slater, Exertis head of Smart Tech and IoT, said “Choosing the correct control system is crucial in ensuring that your heating system is efficient, easy to use and above all secure. The technology deployed by Warmup not only provides that but ensures users can save on their heating bills and can make use of the lowest energy tariffs. These features will appeal to homeowners and as a result we believe Warmup will be a great opportunity for our customers to sell the range.”
The free Warmup MyHeating app works with iOS and Android smartphones. The system can also be managed at my.warmup.com with any desktop or mobile web browser.
Michael Hollins, head of Warmup’s Smart Division, said, “Exertis has established itself as the leading distributor of smart tech products. We are delighted to be able to provide our range of smart thermostats to a wider customer base and take advantage of the retail services that Exertis provides. UK households have the opportunity to reduce their heating bills and secure the best tariffs with our products which can only be good news for both the consumer and the retailer.”
