With unprecedented temperatures of 40 degrees hitting the UK last month, concerns have heightened surrounding climate change and the ambitious target of the UK to reach net zero by 2050.
Net zero was a popular topic at our recent Round Table event. The consensus being that most people are fully behind becoming net zero but have no real plan of action. In fact, recent statistics from the British Business Bank confirm that only 9% of SMEs in the UK are measuring their carbon footprint.
Panellists at the Round Table event agreed that there is a need for both behaviour and systematic change and that businesses need to address both old and new buildings with the same energy and enthusiasm to facilitate net zero. Furthermore, identifying the skills required while having skilled people in place to achieve these goals was deemed critical.
Smart Buildings Show 2022 is the UK’s premiere exhibition and conference event in the smart buildings industry which tackles challenging subjects such as net zero via its impressive speaker programme and CPD-accredited training sessions from top names in the industry.
